A Public Trust . . .
Volunteer Firefighters are people who REALLY make a difference in our community! A firefighter is a position of public trust, and requires you to be a good and honorable citizen. You must be trustworthy, honest and willing to demonstrate loyalty and reliability.
Firefighting is a profession that requires preparation through education and training.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME
A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER?
• You must be at least 18 years of
age;
• AZ FF I&II
• Current AZ EMT
• Current CPR
• Basic WildlandCertified
• Possess a high school diploma or
equivalent;
• Be in excellent health;
• Have a reasonably clean driving
record;
• Clean background check;
• No drug use;
• A Reserve Firefighter can live up to 30 miles
from Oracle Fire District boundaries.
In addition to these requirements, you should be professional in your approach to work, ready to respond, innovative and adaptive, dedicated to the community, and empowered to make a difference.
