OUTSTANDING FIREWISE PROJECTS
Throughout the year, we find that some places and owners really outdo themselves with the firewise mission.
Here are highlights of projects we find to be really outstanding . . .

We recently started giving Firewise Property awards for both a residential location as well as business/ public locations.
This award is given for making their properties "firewise" by reducing vegetation along with trimming, weed eating, and reducing ladder fuels and having a defensible space around their home and business. There is a plaque and a property sign which are awarded at one of the Firewise Board meetings.
Oracle residents and business owners can recommend future recipients of the award by submitting a recommendation to the Firewise Board. Here are the latest recipients . . .

2015 – Congratulations goes to John and Karen Medley for winning the 2015 Firewise Private Property award. They are shown here with Firewise Board Co-chairperson Mary Harris and Fire Chief Larry Southard receiving their award. Stay tuned for more photos of their property.

2015 – The Business/ Public award goes to Bradley O. Kaiser, DMD PLLC for his dentist office property on American Avenue in Oracle. Stay tuned for more photos of his property.

The public/ business firewise award went to Gene Greeley. He cleaned both sides of Linda Vista Rd. from Bachman Wash Rd. to Linda Vista Ranch.

2010 – The 2010 Firewise Property of the Year goes to Norm and Jannell Wisner. Their outstanding Firewise accomplishments have made their Cedar Ridge Drive property a much safer place to live. These photos show various views of their property after the fire prevention work was completed.
